Isle of Arran Stunning Views

We recently embarked on an extraordinary journey to the captivating Isle of Arran, where we had the privilege of revitalising the playground areas of seven local schools in just five days.

Arran, the seventh largest Scottish island, boasts a temperate climate that is unique enough to support the growth of palm trees. Our mission was to bring remarkable changes to these school playgrounds, mainly installing our stunning Danger Trail and inspiring multi-sports court designs.

Engaging Play Zones

Our adventure began with an early morning ferry ride from Ardrossan to Brodick, offering us breathtaking views of the Firth of Clyde. After settling into our cozy cottage, we wasted no time and headed straight to Brodick Primary School, eager to commence our first project.

The following day, we set off towards the southern part of the island, making our way to Lamlash Primary School. The prime condition of the playground surface enabled us to expedite this appointment in good time, allowing us to venture further to Whiting Bay Primary School on Arran’s enchanting southeast coast. Welcomed with open arms, we embarked on our second playground transformation of the day.

After a long day’s work, a quick shower rejuvenated our team before we decided to indulge in a friendly game of golf at Lamlash Golf Club — a fitting way to conclude the second day… although our time was occupied more with searching for wayward golf balls and avoiding the notorious Scottish midges!

Day three brought us inland, where we made our way to Shiskine Primary School then Kilmory Primary School. We transformed these school playgrounds into dazzling and radiant play zones for all the children to enjoy.

The final two days of our visit were dedicated to Corrie Primary School and Pirnmill Primary School. Both schools gave us an extremely warm welcome and we were delighted to be involved in the transformation of their playground areas into captivating spaces with designs that will ignite the imaginations of children for years to come.

Encouraging Active Play

All of our designs are meticulously crafted to encourage children to engage in physical activity by providing them with a fun and interactive play environment. Whether it’s traversing the Danger Trail or participating in a variety of sports on the multi-sports court, these playground markings inspire exercise and interactive play.

Reflections on Arran

As we journeyed back home, tired yet fulfilled, we took a moment to reflect on our visit to the Isle of Arran. This captivating island offers a little bit of everything one would desire from a Scottish island — a dramatic and ever-changing coastline, majestic mountain peaks, serene beaches, lush forests, vibrant cultural festivals, and an abundance of delicious local produce. Coupled with the warmth and hospitality of the locals, Arran remains an enchanting place to work and visit.
